The internal cameras we supply weigh only half a pound and do not need heavy or awkward brackets to support them. They come with a stand which can also be fixed to a vertical, horizontal or inclined surface.
The wireless range of the cameras varies depending on the thickness of the walls: in general, signals travel much better up and down through the floors of buildings than they do through walls on the same floor level. As a guide, distances of fifty feet in a modern house are not normally a problem.
Wired cameras require an ethernet cable (supplied) to provide communication to the camera and back to the router. Careful positioning of the router and camera can reduce the amount of cable required.
At worst this means a need to drill one hole in the wall to provide two wires to an external camera.
We do not currently provide an installation service, but any competent satellite engineer or electrician should be able to fix a camera to a wall and run a cable to it. The cameras are all low voltage and do not need a qualified electrician to install them in normal use.
If there is already a router on the site then it will be configured to work with the existing hardware and software. To make this router work with the cameras certain settings will have to be input into it (primarily for settings known as 'port forwarding') in order to view the cameras remotely. Our helpline and installation guide can help you through this. Alternatively the router can be purchased from us.
